Need a slice of heaven to call home? Build a retirement home or weekend getaway here. Don’t want to build? Still plenty of room to roam, and camp out with your family and make memories.
This 40 acre parcel is between Deeth and Elko and is about 4 miles off I-80. The property is located to the north west of a subdivision with homes scattered throughout the hills. Have no fear about neighbors. There are 640 acres of public land adjacent to the eastern border.
This would be an easy place to homestead. Power is within about .25 miles from the property. We didn’t see any external water tanks on the homes on the drive in so water is accessible. There were several houses that had landscaping and even grass. Water is either easy to drill for or inexpensive to bring in. We talked to a resident of the close subdivision. He said power is inexpensive for the area, including the installation, and water is within 100 feet depth.
The roads closer to the property are sandy and in a couple places were steeper. 4wd is recommended.
The land is covered in prairie grass and sage brush. Two seasonal creeks run through the property, and the Smith Creek Jeep/ATV Trail is 1/2 mile to the north. The acreage has some rolling hills and great views.

Take Exit 328 from I-80. Follow Merganser Road headed west. Navigation will take you to 1st Street, which has a section that is washed out. Better to take 2nd Street one street earlier. Go all the way to Mallard, take a right on 1st, and the road leads you right to the property, the SE corner of which is 1/4 miles to the north of Mallard Road.
