He helped a lot with the process, and was very open about info, sending me multiple different pieces of paperwork about the property in advance, etc. so I could better research things and find the one I liked best. He talked extensively on the phone with me many times over a couple weeks, and I learned a lot about land buying in general from those discussions. He was able to offer me a few different parcels to select from in the area I preferred (on the west side of the mountain), and was open and honest about which lots had preferable traits I asked about and which didn't. The price we agreed on was fair, and lower than the average price for parcels in the area.
